P025E: Brief boost-sensor excursions are counted across the trip

Interpret Ford P025E throttle-inlet pressure intermittency and separate it from a sustained boost sensor voltage fault.

Documented application

Ford 2024–2025 gasoline OBD operation summary, July 16 2024 revision; only the documented monitor variants. No individual model, engine or calibration fitment inferred.

The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.

Ford identifies P025E as intermittent or erratic turbocharger/supercharger boost sensor A behavior in its throttle-inlet-pressure check. The diagnostic focus is repeated out-of-range events, not simply whether measured boost is lower than requested.

Event count changes the evidence needed

The cited monitor uses ten intermittent out-of-range events per driving cycle. A signal can return to a plausible pressure between events, so a normal reading later in the trip does not negate the stored result.

The same page lists separate sustained low- and high-circuit checks with voltage boundaries and a five-second duration. Those checks address a different pattern. P025E should not be treated as proof that the signal remained continuously below or above one of those limits.

Confirm the pressure channel before diagnosing boost control

The source identifies the channel as throttle-inlet pressure sensor A and provides a transfer function for the documented sensor. It does not establish that every vehicle using P025E has the same sensor range or physical location.

Preserve the time history of pressure or signal status, the operating conditions surrounding excursions and any companion circuit codes. This is useful for distinguishing intermittent sensing evidence from a turbocharger control-performance issue. Verification should demonstrate that the matching monitor no longer accumulates the events under valid conditions. The code alone does not justify a turbocharger replacement or identify which part of the sensor circuit caused the interruptions.

Source and applicability

This explanation covers the cited Ford monitor variants, not every vehicle displaying this code. Match the engine, sensor architecture and calibration before applying numerical limits.
