Documented application
2025 GM 25OBDG04B diagnostic parameter tables; the cited monitor only. Vehicle, engine and calibration applicability must be confirmed separately.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P02E0 is an open-circuit check of the diesel intake throttle commands in the cited GM implementation. Hardware feedback reports a load resistance above 200 kilohms while the H-bridge driver is off.
Why the driver state changes the interpretation
This test assesses electrical loading, not how much air the engine consumes. A throttle that fails to follow its position command may have several explanations; P02E0 specifically adds an open-load signature. Its off-state requirement also means that a current measurement taken only while the motor is driven does not reproduce the stated test.
The diagnostic runs after cranking, with powertrain-relay supply above 11 V and a determinate hardware error status. The table calls for 240 failed counts among 300 samples on a 12.5 ms function task and lists Type A, one-trip reporting.
Evidence to preserve
Record whether supply voltage and driver state met those prerequisites when the code appeared. A missing monitor result during cranking or low supply is inconclusive, rather than evidence of a healthy circuit.
The resistance threshold is a controller detection criterion, not a safe instruction to place a meter on an energized motor circuit. Diagnosis should identify the applicable throttle control circuit and use the vehicle-specific open-load procedure. The summary does not establish whether the open path lies in wiring, a connection, the actuator or its electronics.
