Documented application
2025 GM 25OBDG03A ECM monitor at the cited physical PDF pages only. Vehicle, engine and calibration applicability is not established by the file-level application matrix.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P0341 is a performance check on Bank 1 camshaft Sensor A. The cited GM monitor asks whether the number of cam pulses matches the expected crank-referenced window. It can fail even when the sensor produces a recognizable signal.
Two counting windows
At a start attempt, the controller checks pulses during twelve medium-resolution crank events. The published failure range is fewer than four or more than six pulses. A longer path counts pulses over 100 engine cycles, with values below 398 or above 402 outside the stated range.
Both evaluations depend on a synchronized crankshaft and the absence of a relevant crank-sensor fault. The initial test is enabled by starter engagement and can continue after the starter disengages. A running-only snapshot may miss a startup counting problem.
Pulse presence is not enough
Record missing and additional edges, not just whether a cam waveform exists. The diagnostic significance is the count relative to the valid crank reference. The page does not identify whether an incorrect count originates in signal integrity, sensing or the target itself.
Use the applicable engine's waveform and circuit procedure before interpreting physical timing. Verification should confirm the required pulse counts through the relevant windows with crank synchronization established. A normal-looking cam angle or a code clear does not reproduce the monitor's counting logic.
Source and applicability
This explanation is limited to the 2025 GM 25OBDG03A monitor on page 268. Its thresholds are calibration examples, not universal specifications. Confirm the vehicle, engine and controller procedure before applying them.
