P03F2: A low exhaust profile-C circuit must be judged during its on command

Understand the powered-on ground-short assessment behind GM P03F2 and the channel-specific evidence needed for diagnosis.

Documented application

2025 GM 03B documented monitor only. Vehicle, engine and controller calibration applicability must be established separately; no model fitment is inferred from the file.

The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.

P03F2 reports a low control-circuit condition for bank 1 exhaust profile actuator C. The cited GM strategy watches exhaust profile actuator 3 while its driver is energized and classifies an abnormal feedback response as a connection toward ground.

Command state makes a low reading meaningful

The published electrical specification is a signal-to-controller-ground impedance below 0.5 Ω. The controller infers the failure through calibrated voltage thresholds. That does not turn the value into an instruction to connect an ohmmeter to a powered output or an unspecified connector.

An on command is explicitly required, together with diagnostic enablement, supply above 11 V and crank/run ignition. Four failures out of five samples mature the condition. The code therefore represents repeated eligible observations, rather than every occasion on which a signal happens to be low.

Keep the channel and operating conditions aligned

Retain actuator 3's command, feedback and contemporaneous supply. A low output while the controller intentionally leaves it off is not the same diagnostic event. A low supply outside the stated window also prevents reproducing the documented comparison faithfully.

The source distinguishes this ground-directed classification from an open path or a power-directed fault, but it cannot locate the problem inside the load, wiring or controller. Those are circuit-isolation questions for the applicable vehicle procedure. Mechanical profile motion should not be diagnosed from this electrical classification alone.
