Documented application
2025 GM 25OBDG03A ECM monitor at the cited physical PDF pages only. Vehicle, engine and calibration applicability is not established by the file-level application matrix.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P0463 is the fuel-level sensor circuit-high code. The cited GM row specifically covers a fuel float connected directly to the engine controller. It evaluates the sender output as a percentage of a five-volt range and flags values above sixty percent.
The threshold is architecture-specific
Sixty percent is an electrical-range boundary in this monitor, not a statement that the tank is more than sixty percent full. Confusing those quantities would turn a circuit diagnosis into an incorrect fuel-quantity conclusion.
The direct ECM connection is also material. A module-connected sender can have different message prerequisites and calibration. Confirm the actual wiring architecture before applying the cited boundary to a particular vehicle.
Counted high readings need context
The diagnostic uses forty failures out of fifty samples at 100 milliseconds per sample and is classified Type B, two-trip. A current normal sender value does not disprove an earlier sustained or intermittent high episode captured by those counters.
Record raw sender output and fault timing, then use the correct circuit procedure to determine why the input exceeds its expected range. The page does not identify a universal sender resistance, physical float position or replacement part. Verification should show that the enabled circuit-high monitor completes without renewed failures. A plausible dashboard fuel level is helpful context but is not an independent electrical test of the same sender signal.
Source and applicability
This explanation is limited to the 2025 GM 25OBDG03A monitor on page 301. Its thresholds are calibration examples, not universal specifications. Confirm the vehicle, engine and controller procedure before applying them.
