P065E: Intake-manifold feedback must agree with a stable command
P065E compares variable-intake-manifold feedback with the requested position after the command has stabilized.

Documented application
2009 General Motors diagnostic parameter file 09OBDG12 Engine Diagnostics.pdf. Section-specific modules and calibrations; no per-code model or engine applicability established.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P065E evaluates the variable-intake-manifold position feedback in GM's group 12 example. Its two branches check the feedback against the commanded off and on states. The diagnostic is therefore about whether the reported position makes sense for the requested configuration.
A switching transient is not the whole test
The command must remain stable for more than 0.4 seconds before the relevant comparison. The table also requires time after engine start and an operating speed and temperature window. Reading feedback during a transition without the command history can misrepresent the controller's judgment.
The source considers repeated switching under high load without replenishing the vacuum reservoir. That qualification links position plausibility with the actuation system's available operating conditions; it does not by itself prove a vacuum leak or failed manifold.
Separate feedback plausibility from circuit diagnosis
The continuation page lists actuator electrical faults, reference-voltage faults and temperature or pressure faults that inhibit this evaluation. The adjacent P0661/P0662 entries handle actuator circuit conditions separately. An inhibited P065E test is not equivalent to a passing position check.
Record the stable command, corresponding feedback and related fault states. Follow the exact vehicle procedure to distinguish control, feedback and physical actuation. Verification should demonstrate valid feedback in the applicable commanded states and completed monitoring, rather than only a cleared code or one successful movement.
