P068A: A relay that de-energizes too early is a timing classification
Understand Ford P068A and distinguish early relay release from an open relay-control circuit or a generic supply-voltage fault.

Documented application
Ford 2023–2024 diesel ECU main-relay monitor and the 2024–2025 gasoline summary’s TCM code listing. The diesel ECU timing is not a verified universal transmission-controller threshold.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P068A reports that the control-module power relay de-energized too early. Ford's diesel ECU relay section lists it separately from P0685, the relay-control circuit open classification. That separation makes the timing of the power event important; the code is not simply another name for any low voltage.
Keep the ECU example and transmission listing separate
The 2023–2024 diesel summary describes continuous ECU main-relay monitoring and a 0.5-second malfunction-registration duration. The gasoline document also lists P068A/P068A_00 in transmission controller tables, but does not establish that the diesel ECU's timing value is a universal TCM threshold.
Preserve which module reported the event. Borrowing a duration from an engine-control example without identifying the transmission controller would overextend the source.
Capture the sequence rather than one later voltage
A useful record retains the power-state transition, relay command/status information available for the vehicle, and accompanying circuit or supply codes. A normal supply reading after restart cannot reconstruct whether power disappeared too early during the original sequence.
The sources do not publish the complete shutdown timing algorithm or identify the relay, its wiring or the controller as the failed part. They also do not justify bypassing the relay. Verification must use the applicable module's power-sequencing procedure and preserve the distinction between early release and a separately reported open circuit.
