P06E5: glow-control performance can be judged by calculated ground offset
Audi's CPNB P06E5 criterion evaluates calculated ground offset beyond either positive or negative 1.75 V rather than naming an individual failed glow plug.

Documented application
Audi 2014 A6/S6 Quick Reference Specification Book, September 2013, Engine Code CPNB, DTC chart. Thresholds only describe this documented monitor; not universal across other makes or engines.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P06E5 is a glow-plug control-module performance fault. Audi's CPNB chart gives a specific criterion: calculated ground offset at or beyond positive 1.75 V, or at or beyond negative 1.75 V. Both directions matter in the documented evaluation.
Performance does not mean one plug failed
The monitor concerns the control system's calculated ground reference. It is not an individual cylinder's resistance test and does not count defective glow plugs. As diagnostic interpretation, replacing a set of plugs without explaining the offset would not address the evidence this row actually supplies.
The word calculated is also important. The chart does not identify a universal pair of terminals where a hand-held meter must display exactly that number. A scan-derived calculation and a direct circuit measurement need the appropriate diagnostic context.
Evaluate the reference with the correct procedure
The quick-reference book provides no connector pinout, ground-repair instruction or module replacement requirement here. Use the CPNB electrical procedure to relate the calculated finding to the real supply and ground paths. This explanation is limited to the 2014 Audi A6/S6 monitor; another manufacturer's module-performance code may use different criteria and cannot inherit these thresholds automatically.
