Documented application

2025 GM 25OBDG07A Part2 diagnostic monitor documentation; the application-matrix filename mismatch is unresolved, so no model or engine applicability is inferred.

The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.

P07E6 is a stuck-in-park diagnosis with two paths in the cited transmission table. One follows unsuccessful release attempts; the other watches for an unintended engagement indication after the lock was already open.

Release must first be possible

The disengagement branch requires a release state, no request to engage Park, sufficient hydraulic availability, and system pressure of at least 15 bar. Electrical or consistency faults in the park-position sensor must be absent. The controller compares position with adapted hold/open references and counts release timeouts; three retries confirm the fault.

The second branch operates from the open state. An unintended engagement indication persisting for 250 milliseconds increments an open-fault counter, with three events required. These are different histories behind the same code.

Verification needs the correct history

A lock that never completed release and one that appeared to re-engage after opening require different evidence. Preserve the park state, request, adapted position information, and counter type before interpreting the fault.

Verification must use a qualified transmission procedure that controls vehicle movement and confirms the relevant position/state transition. The source does not provide a manual-release instruction or establish that the parking lock is mechanically broken. Its timing and retry counts describe diagnostic behavior, not directions to repeatedly command or defeat the lock.

Documentation and applicability

These details describe the monitor in GM’s 2025 25OBDG07A Part2 file. Its application-matrix filename does not match the download index, so model and engine applicability remain unresolved. Use the vehicle’s correct service information before applying these calibration details.
