Documented application

Documented monitors in gm-2025-03a, model year 2025. These are module/calibration examples; vehicle, engine and transmission applicability must be confirmed independently.

The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.

P0841 is transmission-fluid pressure sensor A performance. The cited CVT page describes a commanded-versus-measured pulley-pressure comparison supported by average speed-ratio error, rather than a simple low-voltage test.

Two independent quantities support the decision

The displayed failure combines average speed-ratio error above 0.2000 with a pressure error above 500 kPa in steady state or above 1,500 kPa outside steady state. A pressure discrepancy alone is not the complete documented criterion. The ratio comparison supplies additional evidence that the pressure indication is inconsistent with controlled operation.

The page also requires suitable supply, vehicle speed above 35 km/h, calculated line pressure above 600 kPa and valid supporting speed/pressure signals. An observation during a panic-stop state or with a related electrical fault may not qualify this test.

Pulley naming needs vehicle-specific confirmation

This performance row identifies the secondary pulley, whereas neighboring sensor-A low/high circuit rows identify the primary pulley. That inconsistency is not resolved by the generic A label. Do not use this article to choose a physical sensor or connector.

Preserve pressure command, measured pressure and ratio error together, then verify the actual sensor mapping in the applicable service information. A valid repair check must establish a passing performance monitor under qualified conditions. The source supports the comparison logic but does not establish a universal sensor replacement or a physical pressure-test procedure.
