In the 2002 WJ/WG 45RFE/545RFE manual, P0932 is the line-pressure-sensor circuit fault. With the engine running, the controller flags a sensor voltage below 0.2 volt or above 4.75 volts. Either electrical extreme can set the same code. The fault therefore does not, by itself, say that actual hydraulic pressure is too high or too low.
Identify which side of the range failed
The factory procedure first compares the present reading with the permitted signal range. A value now inside that range sends the investigation toward intermittent wiring and connectors. A value outside it requires circuit isolation. Preserving the original fault context helps distinguish a persistent low input from an earlier brief high input.
The low-side branches examine the five-volt reference, its continuity and possible shorts to ground. The high-side investigation includes the sensor ground, signal continuity and unwanted signal voltage. This separation explains why two vehicles with P0932 can need different wiring repairs even though the code wording is identical.
A sensor and a TCM remain possible causes, but the tree reaches those decisions only after relevant external circuits are assessed. Treating every out-of-range signal as an internal pressure-control failure skips the purpose of these electrical checks.
Verification and limits
A qualified workshop should confirm credible pressure feedback and complete the specified transmission verification after repair. Pressure measurements and running-vehicle tests require the appropriate equipment and precautions. The voltage boundaries in this article come from this Jeep manual; they are not universal limits for every hydraulic-pressure sensor using P0932.
