Documented application

Documented monitors in gm-2025-03a, model year 2025. These are module/calibration examples; vehicle, engine and transmission applicability must be confirmed independently.

The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.

P0962 is the low control-circuit diagnostic for pressure-control solenoid A. The cited table uses a controller-specific voltage decision designed to detect less than 0.5 ohm between the signal and controller ground.

Circuit low is separate from pressure low

The monitored quantity is electrical. This row does not establish low hydraulic pressure or prove that a clutch is slipping. The source maps solenoid A to different clutch circuits in geared transmissions and to secondary-pulley control in its CVT example, so the hardware assignment must be confirmed before linking symptoms.

The diagnostic counts more than 0.3 second of failure within a sample period exceeding 0.5 second. A momentary low observation is not the entire sample decision.

The supply path must be active

Battery voltage must be between 9 and 32 volts for more than one second, and the appropriate mapped high-side driver must be on. The page also permits specified run/crank or accessory-power conditions. Thus, engine running is not the only possible test context, but an inactive solenoid supply is not a valid equivalent.

Record the controller's solenoid mapping, supply-driver state and circuit result together. Verification should establish a passing low-circuit monitor under those conditions before interpreting hydraulic performance. The impedance relationship describes detection capability, not an instruction to use an ohmmeter on a powered circuit. No particular solenoid, harness or module replacement follows from the code alone.
