P0B10: fine battery-current sensing is below its lower range

The GM BECM P0B10 row concerns the fine current-sensor channel below minus 23 amperes, not a direct battery-capacity measurement.

Documented application

Document-level 2015 GM diagnostic table; per-code vehicle/engine/calibration applicability not established.

The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.

P0B10 in the cited GM battery-controller table is the low branch for battery-current sensor B. The source identifies this as the fine-current channel and detects a reported value below minus 23 amperes under its enabled conditions.

Signed current is not low state of charge

The negative sign is part of the sensor reading. It does not mean the battery has a negative charge level or that its capacity is depleted. The table also does not define current-direction convention here, so this article does not label that sign as charging or discharging.

The diagnostic belongs to the fine sensing channel. Other current information can be monitored separately, including a fine-versus-coarse correlation check. A result on one channel should not be converted into a universal maximum current rating for the entire traction battery.

Persistence and controller state qualify the result

The row requires 175 milliseconds of failure within a 250-millisecond window, sampled every 25 milliseconds. It also qualifies diagnostic enable, communication/power mode and controller system voltage.

The passing condition is separately specified at or above the lower boundary with its own duration. A cleared memory or one improved sample does not establish that the monitor passed.

Preserve the fine-current reading, companion current-sensor codes and operating state. Qualified service diagnosis must distinguish sensing integrity from actual current behavior without opening or probing the high-voltage battery based solely on this summary.
