Documented application
FCA 18-073-17 concerns NAFTA 2017 Ram 2500/3500 DJ/D2 with 6.7 L ETK diesel, built through July 31, 2017.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
Performance and no-flow are separate observations
FCA lists P202E for reductant-injector performance and P218F for no reductant flow in this software release. If both are present, retain both entries; they do not independently prove that the injector itself is mechanically blocked. The bulletin establishes a calibration-related path for the specified trucks, not a universal injector-replacement rule.
The dosing controller cannot be omitted
The ECM/PCM update must be accompanied by confirmation of the dosing-control-unit software. The repair also includes a PCM configuration routine. That coordination matters when a vehicle has already received an engine-controller update but the DEF complaint remains: the work record should show which modules and configuration steps were completed.
Transmission equipment changes completion
For a 68RFE-equipped truck, the procedure includes a different shutdown interval and transmission Quick Learn; the other transmission branch follows its own sequence. These are completion details, not proof that P202E diagnoses a transmission fault. Match the engine, model and build cutoff, address additional faults, and document the final calibration set before verifying the original reductant complaint. Persistent faults need current dosing-system tests. The source does not supply injector flow specifications or authorize altering DEF chemistry or disabling emissions monitoring to make the code disappear.
