P2070: The tuning-valve open/closed label must be resolved before a jam diagnosis
Understand the useful control-state evidence in GM P2070 and the source conflict that prevents assuming which end position is involved.

Documented application
2025 GM 07A-1 documented monitor only. Vehicle, engine and controller calibration applicability must be established separately; no model fitment is inferred from the file.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P2070 is generically described as an intake manifold tuning valve stuck open on bank 1. The cited GM row instead names a closed jammed valve, and its malfunction status also says closed. Original-page inspection confirms this difference; the physical end-position interpretation must therefore be resolved for the actual vehicle.
A jam assessment uses more than position alone
The documented strategy combines governor deviation, a preliminary jam indication and a reported jam fault. It also requires valid system state and excludes a detected frozen actuator. A valve found at one endpoint without those control-state observations does not reproduce the same diagnostic assessment.
The monitor excludes actuator-test operation and initial end-stop learning. It requires sufficient actuation pressure and an available actuator, with a battery window above 9 V and below 17.5 V. These conditions distinguish normal initialization or an unavailable actuator from an eligible jam evaluation.
Preserve the exact reported state
Retain commanded behavior, deviation status, preliminary jam information and the named endpoint reported by the controller. Do not silently replace the document's closed label with the generic open label, or instruct a reader to force the valve in either direction.
The table lists a 0.05-second evaluation with two-trip reporting. It does not identify a failed linkage or actuator, and its inconsistent end-position naming limits a numerical or physical reproduction procedure. Use the matching service information before deciding what hardware condition the code represents.
