P216D: The electrical alternatives hidden behind injector group F supply wording
Read P216D as a documented high-side driver diagnosis with command-dependent short-circuit criteria.

Documented application
2025 GM 25OBDG07A Part 2 monitor tables only; model, engine and transmission applicability are not established by the unresolved application-matrix filename join.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P216D is cataloged as injector group F supply voltage circuit/open. The source examined here describes the cylinder 6 injector “F” high-side driver and explicitly evaluates short circuits. This difference in wording is useful: the generic title should not be treated as a determination that an open wire has been found.
The command determines what is abnormal
A low off-state voltage is the ground-short observation. A high on-state voltage is the supply-short observation. Either can contribute to the documented code, which uses a two-event maturation count rather than an independently specified elapsed-time test.
This makes command history central to interpretation. The voltage direction on its own cannot establish which branch of the monitor failed.
Separate a control-path problem from injector hydraulics
The high-side diagnosis does not measure how much fuel reached the cylinder or whether the nozzle atomized it correctly. Hydraulic conclusions require separate evidence; a driver fault cannot identify a mechanically dirty injector.
Useful follow-up begins with the vehicle's exact channel mapping and high-side circuit topology. The group letter does not establish a connector location or prove that several injectors share the same supply arrangement. Record the driver's fault category and check whether referenced inhibition rules prevented further monitoring. The source provides enough information to frame an electrical investigation, but not to select a replacement part or justify improvised direct-power testing.
