P2262 is turbocharger boost pressure not detected, mechanical, in Ford's 2004 6.0L diesel summary. The controller looks for manifold pressure to exceed 5 kPa gauge under a defined demand window. Failure to do so for more than five seconds is the listed criterion.
The operating demand is essential
Ford requires engine speed above 2,800 rpm, requested fuel above 20 mg/s and EGR position less than 15 percent open. An idle pressure reading does not recreate this monitor. Preserve engine speed, fueling request, EGR position and manifold pressure together.
The companion P2263 performance check has a different fuel-demand threshold and a higher required pressure. Those distinctions prevent two boost-related codes from being treated as identical tests.
Mechanical wording is not a turbocharger verdict
The monitor requires acceptable MAP and EGR-position inputs. It establishes insufficient detected boost under the specified conditions, but it does not isolate a turbocharger, air path or control component. Use the exact engine's boost diagnostic procedure to determine why the pressure response is missing. The 5 kPa value is gauge pressure, so comparing it directly with an absolute-pressure reading without the correct reference would misinterpret the source.

The documented monitor explains the fault decision; vehicle-specific service information is still needed for connector identification and a complete repair procedure.
