Documented application
Documented 2025 GM diagnostic parameter monitor in 25OBDG04B.pdf; model, engine and calibration applicability require vehicle-specific confirmation.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P2295 is the circuit-low fault for fuel-pressure regulator solenoid 2 in the reviewed GM strategy. The controller examines the low-side driver with its output powered off and uses a hardware-specific voltage comparison to recognize a short to ground. It is not a direct diagnosis of low fuel pressure.
Fault direction depends on the circuit relationship
The published controller specification for the ground-short condition is signal-to-controller-ground impedance below 0.5 ohm. The actual voltage thresholds are controller-specific and are not printed as universal test values. A reading from a different reference point or an energized driver does not reproduce that defined relationship.
This also distinguishes P2295 from the adjacent open-circuit monitor: both use an off-state voltage check, but classify opposite impedance conditions. The code alone does not establish whether the short lies in a connection, harness, actuator or controller path.
What permits a valid check
Relay voltage must exceed 11 volts and cranking must be inactive. Calibration enablement, an active diagnostic system and determinate hardware feedback are required. The counter uses 61 failures within 122 samples at 6.25-millisecond intervals. Reporting is Type A, one trip.
Verification should establish a completed off-state ground-short diagnosis under those conditions. A no-code observation while the hardware result is indeterminate is inconclusive. The source does not provide a pinout or repair instruction. Electrical isolation and any high-pressure fuel-system access require the applicable professional service procedure, with vehicle and calibration applicability confirmed first.
