P2313: Interpreting an ignition output that stays high when commanded on
P2313 is a command-dependent ignition-circuit fault; learn what the cited GM monitor can establish and why its channel identity needs confirmation.

Documented application
2025 GM 25OBDG07A Part 2 documented monitor only; its application-matrix filename join is unresolved. No model, engine or universal calibration applicability is inferred.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
The important observation for P2313 is a high voltage during an on command to the ignition low-side driver. In the cited GM strategy, that combination is classified as a short-to-power condition. Merely finding voltage on a coil connector with the engine stopped does not reproduce the monitored event.
What makes an observation comparable
GM lists ignition synchronization, engine speed above 1,400 rpm and sufficient ignition-counter progress to ensure firing events occurred. The fault interval is 0.4 seconds and reporting is two-trip. Verification therefore needs the command state and a valid operating window, not a disconnected measurement interpreted in isolation.
The distinction from P2312 is the state being assessed: P2313 concerns an output that remains high when driven on, whereas the paired low fault is evaluated with the driver off.
Channel identification remains open
The dictionary names coil E, but the primary table calls this coil B. This article does not resolve that inconsistency by guessing a cylinder. Confirm the module’s exact circuit assignment in the vehicle’s wiring information before narrowing the investigation. The monitor supports an electrical fault classification, not automatic replacement of a coil or controller.
Document scope and source
2025 GM 25OBDG07A Part 2 documented monitor only; its application-matrix filename join is unresolved. No model, engine or universal calibration applicability is inferred. These figures explain the cited controller logic, not a vehicle-specific repair instruction. Match the vehicle’s service information before applying them.
