P2453: filter differential-pressure signal is stuck during a transient
P2453 detects too little change in the filter pressure signal when engine conditions indicate that it should respond.

Documented application
2025 GM 25OBDG04B diagnostic parameter file; the cited monitor is documented, but individual vehicle, engine and calibration applicability has not been established.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
The documented P2453 monitor looks for a differential-pressure signal stuck inside its normal range. It fails when signal variation is no greater than 0.08% during a qualified engine transient. A value can therefore look electrically plausible and still trigger this performance code.
Response is the test
The monitor requires engine movement and changes in engine speed, fuel quantity and airflow. The speed-change condition is above 110 rpm per second. Some other printed units are unclear, so they should be confirmed in calibration-specific information rather than used as a driving recipe.
The counter is 40 failures out of 50 samples at 12.5 ms intervals. Pipe-temperature qualification and absence of offset, electrical and quick-change faults are also required. Reporting is Type A, one trip.
Interpreting a flat reading
A steady value at genuinely steady operating conditions does not reproduce this monitor. The useful comparison is pressure response while the inputs qualify the expected change. Conversely, rapid erratic variation belongs to a different monitor and can inhibit this one.
Verify that the pressure signal responds during an eligible transient and that the actual diagnostic result completes. The table establishes a stuck-response concern but does not distinguish a sensor fault from a pressure-path problem by itself. Use the vehicle's prescribed test to resolve that distinction.
Source and application limits
