P2560: Ford low-coolant check inferred from oil and coolant temperatures
Ford's P2560 example infers a coolant-system concern from a large oil-to-coolant temperature difference.

Documented application
Ford 2015 model-year diesel OBD system operation summary, revision December 22, 2014; the cited monitor only, without blanket model or engine applicability.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P2560 is labeled engine coolant level low, but the documented Ford 2015 diesel monitor uses temperature relationships. It requires acceptable engine-coolant and oil-temperature information and evaluates whether oil temperature is more than 50°C above coolant temperature. This is an inferred coolant-system check, not a direct measurement of liquid height in the reservoir.
What enables the inference
Ford lists oil temperature of at least 70°C and a typical five-second monitoring duration. The oil must be warm enough for the temperature comparison to become meaningful. A cold-engine level inspection and this running temperature inference are different kinds of evidence.
The page contains inherited oil-sensor headings beneath its coolant-system check title. The actual DTC and stated comparison are clear, but those headings should not be used to invent a separate oil-sensor circuit test.
Confirm the physical condition
Preserve both temperature readings and verify their credibility. The code alone cannot prove the amount or location of a coolant loss, and a biased temperature input can complicate interpretation. Follow the vehicle's cooling-system diagnostic procedure and coolant-check instructions. Never open a hot pressurized cooling system to investigate the code; the OBD summary supplies no safe pressure-release procedure.
Source and applicability

The documented monitor explains the fault decision; vehicle-specific service information is still needed for connector identification and a complete repair procedure.
