P25B0: Fuel-level sensor A can be stuck even when its electrical value looks plausible
Learn how Ford P25B0 compares consumed fuel with level change and why short observations may not verify the monitor.

Ford 2024–2025 gasoline OBD operation summary, July 16 2024 revision; only the cited monitor and transmission architectures. No individual vehicle fitment or universal calibration is inferred.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P25B0 identifies fuel-level sensor A as stuck in Ford's monitor, with P0460_2A as the detailed representation. This is a functional comparison between calculated fuel consumption and change in the reported level. It is separate from an electrically low, high or noisy level signal.
The allowed disagreement depends on the indicated level
Ford's example uses different consumed-capacity versus level-change thresholds: over 60 percent when the indication is above 90 percent, over 30 percent below 10 percent, and over 25 percent between those regions. A single threshold applied across the whole tank range would not reproduce the described strategy.
The summary also says monitoring in the 15–85 percent region can take roughly 100–120 miles to complete. That is a monitoring-duration example, not a required test drive or proof that every vehicle uses the same distance.
A stable gauge alone is incomplete evidence
Record the A input's change alongside calculated fuel used and the operating history. A steady level during a short interval does not by itself establish a stuck sensor, while a plausible electrical reading does not prove the consumption comparison passed.
Ford separately identifies B stuck and A-or-B stuck results. Preserve which category the controller reports before assigning a physical sender. The source does not provide a universal tank layout or replacement decision; verification requires the actual vehicle's level-sensing arrangement and procedure.
