P2710: The Ford F-channel tables disagree on the displayed failure mapping
Understand the P2710 mapping conflict before choosing an intermittent-circuit or short-to-power diagnostic branch.

Documented application
Ford 2024–2025 gasoline OBD operation summary, July 16 2024 revision; only the cited monitor and transmission architectures. No individual vehicle fitment or universal calibration is inferred.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P2710 is labeled as shift-solenoid F intermittency in the generic dictionary and Ford's general table, where it is paired with P2706_1F. However, Ford's architecture table places P2710/P2706_12 in the short-to-power cell. Another architecture row retains _1F while occupying that power-short column.
Resolve the reporting representation first
These differences are present in the original PDF. They should not be silently corrected or treated as universal aliases. Preserve the reporting transmission, full code and failure suffix, then confirm the vehicle-specific diagnostic definition before choosing an electrical branch.
The general electrical strategy uses continuous smart-driver feedback with a typical 1.5-second fault criterion. Its functional F failed-on and failed-off results are separately identified as P2708/_7E and P2707/_7F. An electrical mapping question is not resolved by assuming one of those functional outcomes.
Why the branch matters
An intermittent-circuit investigation needs the timing of the interruption and its command context. A confirmed power-short classification needs isolation of the reported electrical path. The same later normal shift cannot demonstrate that either earlier event was impossible.
This source does not establish which P2710 interpretation applies to every calibration or give a universal connector measurement. The useful conclusion is to retain the detailed result and resolve the mapping before selecting tests or components. The conflicting published identifiers remain an explicit review limitation.
