Documented application

2025 GM diagnostic monitor as identified in cited files; exact vehicle, transmission and calibration applicability is not established.

The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.

P2730 identifies a short-to-voltage signature in the control circuit for pressure-control solenoid E in the reviewed GM strategy. It reports an electrical-range failure rather than confirming high hydraulic pressure or a stuck clutch.

Short events can be diagnostically relevant

The failure-time threshold is greater than 0.06 second within a sample interval greater than 0.13 second. A brief excursion can therefore meet the documented criterion even if a slow display or a later inspection appears normal.

The driver design specification for the fault is less than 0.5 ohm between signal and controller voltage source. That number characterizes the detection design; it is not a live-circuit resistance test or a universal solenoid winding specification.

Match the monitored function

The source lists alternative mappings: 9-speed C57R, 10-speed C1356789, 8-speed C45678R, and CVT torque-converter control. Confirm the actual transmission before choosing a diagram.

Monitoring also needs the assigned high-side driver on, battery voltage between 9 V and 32 V for more than one second, and a qualifying run/crank or accessory state. These prerequisites explain why an off-state inspection may not reproduce a recorded fault.

Verification should preserve supply status, circuit identity and the intermittent signal behavior, then confirm successful monitor completion after repair. The documented Type A, one-trip response does not identify the sole failed part or justify replacing a transmission assembly.
