P2745: Intermediate-speed B circuitry requires the correct sensor architecture
Understand Ford P2745 electrical monitoring and why B cannot be assumed to exist on every transmission.

Documented application
Ford 2024–2025 gasoline OBD operation summary, July 16 2024 revision; only the cited monitor and transmission architectures. No individual vehicle fitment or universal calibration is inferred.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P2745 is the intermediate-shaft speed B open-or-ground circuit classification in Ford's general monitor. The source distinguishes the listed eight-speed arrangement, with one intermediate sensor, from the ten-speed arrangement, with two. The presence and location of B therefore require the actual transmission identity.
Electrical detection is separate from speed plausibility
Ford says the described eight- and ten-speed sensor systems can detect electrical opens and shorts without driving, with a typical maturation of about 1.5 seconds. A zero speed reading while stopped cannot alone confirm or refute that circuit result.
The same section provides separate B classifications for short-to-power, intermittency, dropout, noise and plausibility. Their dynamic comparisons use speed and gear evidence, so their numerical spike or dropout criteria should not be substituted for P2745_14's electrical branch.
Preserve architecture-specific naming
The TR9070 table associates the related P2745 family with the even-clutch shaft speed input. That is a documented role for that architecture, not a universal physical interpretation of B elsewhere.
Record the complete module report, circuit status and relevant speed information. A later agreement among speeds cannot locate an earlier electrical interruption. The summary does not provide a connector assignment or justify replacing a particular sensor. The matched transmission's circuit procedure must establish which path produced the reported condition.
