Documented application

Ford 2024–2025 gasoline OBD operation summary, July 16 2024 revision; only the cited monitor and transmission architectures. No individual vehicle fitment or universal calibration is inferred.

The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.

P2760 is the intermittent torque-converter clutch circuit classification in Ford's table, represented as P0740_1F. It is separate from the functional stuck-on and stuck-off results, which evaluate whether the converter clutch follows the intended locking or release behavior.

Keep command-feedback and slip evidence separate

Ford's electrical check compares output-driver feedback with the commanded driver state. The typical criterion is a mismatch for 1.5 seconds, while the operation table gives a broader electrical monitoring duration. The summary does not specify a unique P2760 dropout count that can be applied to every implementation.

Mechanical monitoring instead uses torque-converter slip and eligible command conditions. A normal slip value after the event cannot demonstrate that the electrical path remained uninterrupted throughout the earlier drive.

Preserve the interruption's context

Retain the complete suffix, fault status, commanded clutch activity and the timing of any interruption. A shift or lockup disturbance occurring at the same time can be useful context, but it cannot locate the electrical defect by itself. A later static reading may miss the condition entirely.

The source does not provide a universal connector test or justify replacing the converter. Verification requires the appropriate electrical procedure for the specific transmission, while any functional failed-on or failed-off codes remain separate findings rather than substitutes for the intermittent classification.
