P27AE: pressure-control solenoid H characterization fails validation

P27AE evaluates the completeness and integrity of solenoid H calibration data for the installed valve body.

Documented application

2025 GM 25OBDG04B diagnostic parameter file; the cited monitor is documented, but individual vehicle, engine and calibration applicability has not been established.

The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.

P27AE concerns the stored characterization of pressure-control solenoid H. Depending on the documented transmission architecture, H can represent a clutch-pressure function, torque-converter control or a CVT mode valve. Confirm the actual transmission before assigning a physical component to the generic letter.

More than a missing calibration file

The monitor fails when characterization programming is incomplete. The source explains that this status can arise from missing data, a mismatched solenoid class, a checksum mismatch or invalid axis ordering. The continuation requires each successive axis value to be at least as large as the previous one.

The check runs once during normal controller power-up initialization, before ordinary timed control. It is Type A, one trip. The source links the characterization data to the valve-body assembly installed in the vehicle, including after service.

Diagnosis and verification

Keep the assembly identity and programming outcome together. A complete write of the wrong characterization would not establish the intended hardware match. Equally, acceptable solenoid current does not verify data integrity, because this monitor is not a current-feedback comparison.

Follow the vehicle's approved programming process with verified hardware identification. Confirmation is a successful initialization data check at the next qualifying power-up. The entry provides no raw memory-editing procedure and does not establish that an internal hydraulic component has failed merely because its stored data was rejected.

Source and application limits

This explanation covers the cited 2025 GM monitor. Confirm the vehicle and calibration in its service information before applying these limits; inclusion in this file does not establish model compatibility. GM diagnostic parameters, PDF page 2278. GM diagnostic parameters, PDF page 2279.
