P2804: Confirm Ford’s general B-circuit classification before assuming intermittency
Understand the difference between the generic P2804 label and Ford’s published transmission-range sensor B mapping.

Documented application
Ford 2024–2025 gasoline OBD operation summary, July 16 2024 revision; only the cited monitor and transmission architectures. No individual vehicle fitment or universal calibration is inferred.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P2804 is called an intermittent range-sensor B circuit in the generic dictionary, but Ford's cited summary labels P2804/P2800_01 as a general electrical B fault. That difference must remain visible because the table does not establish a specific intermittent-event threshold for every P2804 report.
Preserve the actual reporting format
Ford separately assigns B frequency, low and high categories to P2801, P2802 and P2803. It also lists A/B correlation as P2805. A broad B-circuit result should not be automatically interpreted as one of those narrower categories without the full controller definition.
The range-sensor section describes digital, analog and PWM designs with different checks. A frequency criterion from a PWM implementation cannot diagnose every general electrical result, and an averaged decoded selector position may conceal an underlying signal problem.
Verify the representation before choosing a test
Record the reporting module, full suffix, range-sensor architecture and available B signal information. If intermittency is confirmed by the vehicle-specific definition, preserve the event timing. If the controller reports a more general circuit fault, use its applicable diagnostic branch rather than inventing a dropout count.
The source provides no universal B terminal, physical sensor location or replacement rule. The unresolved generic-versus-document label is retained here while the useful distinction between frequency, level, correlation and general circuit results remains supported.
