Documented application
2025 GM 25OBDG04B diagnostic parameter file; the cited monitor is documented, but individual vehicle, engine and calibration applicability has not been established.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P2812 is the open-circuit diagnosis for solenoid G. In this GM row the monitored function varies: line-pressure control in the named nine- and ten-speed systems, torque-converter control in the eight-speed system, or CVT mode-valve A. Identify the installed architecture before locating a component.
Voltage feedback establishes the fault class
The controller compares circuit voltage with internal thresholds corresponding to an open path. The specification is associated with impedance above 200 kilohms between signal and controller ground; this is not an instruction to resistance-test an energized circuit.
Failure time must exceed 0.60 seconds within a sample time exceeding 0.65 seconds, with a 6.25 ms update rate. The table is Type B, two trips. Battery voltage must be between 9 V and 32 V for more than one second, an eligible power state must be present and the mapped high-side driver must be on.
Diagnosis and confirmation
An inactive high-side supply may leave the monitor ineligible, so absence of a new code does not independently prove continuity. Review power-state and driver qualification alongside the open-circuit status. A hydraulic shift complaint is different evidence from this electrical diagnosis.
Use the exact service circuit procedure, then verify a completed qualified open-load check. The summary does not establish a universal solenoid location or require valve-body replacement.
Source and application limits
This explanation covers the cited 2025 GM monitor. Confirm the vehicle and calibration in its service information before applying these limits; inclusion in this file does not establish model compatibility. GM diagnostic parameters, PDF page 2286.
