P2838: Rod-two electrical low is about pulse behavior, not fork travel
P2838 evaluates missing low-state pulses or low duty cycle on rod two, with an unresolved reference-supply enable conflict.

Documented application
2025 GM 25OBDG07A Part 2 documented monitor only; its application-matrix filename join is unresolved. No model, engine or universal calibration applicability is inferred.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P2838 is the low electrical classification for rod-two position feedback. GM’s monitor describes no pulses while the pin is below 2 V, or a signal duty cycle below 8%. These are digital-input criteria, not a measurement that the fork has moved too far in one direction.
One low sample does not establish the fault
A healthy pulse signal has low intervals. The missing-pulse branch needs an absence of transitions as well as a low state; the duty-cycle branch concerns the proportion of the repeating signal. The confirmation period is at least 150 ms.
The source prints incompatible VREF1 enables, above 5.5 V and below 4.5 V. This article does not silently swap them. Exact supply eligibility remains a review item, with P0642/P0643 and P0882/P0883 listed as inhibiting faults.
Preserve the original signal evidence
Record pulse presence, duty cycle and reference-supply status rather than relying only on a converted rod position. The electrical-low finding should be separated from a mechanical movement failure. Resolve the actual calibration’s supply conditions and measurement method through applicable service documentation. The code alone does not identify a failed sensor, wire or controller input.
Document scope and source
2025 GM 25OBDG07A Part 2 documented monitor only; its application-matrix filename join is unresolved. No model, engine or universal calibration applicability is inferred. These figures explain the cited controller logic, not a vehicle-specific repair instruction. Match the vehicle’s service information before applying them.
