P2ADB: a smart reductant temperature sensor reports an out-of-range low value
P2ADB identifies a low-range temperature error reported by the reductant UTLC smart sensor over SENT.

Documented application
Documented 2025 GM gm-2025-04b monitor only; vehicle, engine and controller applicability must be established separately.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
For this GM reductant controller, P2ADB means the UTLC temperature measurement falls below the documented lower range limit of −50°C. The smart sensor performs the computation internally and sends a corresponding error flag to the diesel exhaust fluid controller over SENT.
Low temperature is not a direct voltage diagnosis
The generic title says “sensor B circuit low,” but this implementation is not described as the controller measuring a conventional analog thermistor pin. It receives a sensor-generated range error. Treating the title as proof of a short to ground would skip the architecture actually documented by the source.
The monitor requires active vehicle power mode and no specified SENT communication or internal controller faults. The table lists a two-second failure requirement across four samples, but its printed sample-time unit is inconsistent with that duration; this article does not convert it into a test timing instruction.
What to compare
Determine whether the sensor is communicating valid data with an explicit low-range flag, or whether communication itself is failing. Those are different diagnostic paths. Compare the reported temperature with the system's operating conditions and related temperature information, while retaining the distinction between a measured implausible value and a missing message.
The code alone does not prove that the reductant is actually at −50°C, identify the failed electronic element or establish a replacement part. Verification needs reliable SENT communication and a completed low-range check in active power mode. A plausible substituted display value after communication loss does not demonstrate that the original smart-sensor error is resolved.
