P2C07: Sensor A circuit low belongs to the powered intake-profile output

Understand P2C07’s on-state ground-short classification and its distinction from a profile-position performance fault.

Documented application

2025 GM 25OBDG03B documented monitor only. Vehicle, engine and calibration applicability must be confirmed from the matching service information; no model fitment is inferred.

The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.

P2C07 concerns the low electrical classification for the intake profile-position sensor A circuit. In the GM row, the controller evaluates its associated driver with the output powered on. The code is not a statement that the profile pin is physically too low or that the camshaft has failed to advance.

First distinguish circuit evidence from movement evidence

The published classification corresponds to impedance below 0.5 Ω toward controller ground, inferred through implementation-specific voltage limits. The separate P2C06 monitor evaluates an unexpected Hall-state sequence. An on-state circuit-low result and a command-to-movement mismatch are different diagnostic branches.

An off-state observation cannot directly verify P2C07. The actual powered command must be retained with the electrical feedback, particularly where the output operates only during brief profile-control events.

Keep the enable conditions with the result

Supply above 11 V, diagnostic enablement and ignition in crank or run are required. The output must be commanded on, and four failures out of five samples produce the stated classification. A single low point without that context is weaker evidence.

The source does not provide a sensor location, connector pinout or a procedure for intentionally grounding the circuit. It also does not identify whether the low path is in wiring, a connected component or the controller. Localization requires the applicable circuit information after the precise intake channel has been established.
