P2C14: Exhaust sensor A circuit low is a powered-driver classification

Learn why P2C14’s low label concerns electrical behavior and not an exhaust camshaft position.

Documented application

2025 GM 25OBDG03B documented monitor only. Vehicle, engine and calibration applicability must be confirmed from the matching service information; no model fitment is inferred.

The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.

P2C14 identifies the low electrical result for exhaust profile-position sensor A. In the documented GM implementation, the output is commanded on and its voltage is evaluated against limits representing a short toward ground. The code does not mean that exhaust cam timing or profile-pin travel is too low.

Keep the two labels and the command distinct

The B camshaft designation identifies the exhaust side in this table, while A identifies the position-sensor channel. Neither designation establishes a physical cylinder or connector location without the actual vehicle mapping.

The controller’s classification corresponds to impedance below 0.5 Ω toward ground. The adjacent open and high electrical rows describe different path conditions; the high check is evaluated with the output off. A voltage without the associated command state cannot distinguish these tests reliably.

Use repeated eligible evidence

The source requires supply above 11 V, ignition in crank or run, diagnostic enablement and an on command. Four failures among five samples produce the result, separately from the listed one-trip reporting class.

A useful record retains the exhaust A-channel identity, command and supply conditions. These monitor criteria are not a pinout or an instruction to measure resistance on a live unknown circuit. The summary does not locate a ground path or choose between wiring, a connected component and the controller; proper circuit information is required.
