P2C4C: Do not borrow throttle-voltage limits for a clutch-actuation sensor

Understand Ford P2C4C low-circuit monitoring and why adjacent throttle thresholds do not define this clutch-sensor test.

Documented application

Ford 2024–2025 gasoline OBD summary, July 16, 2024 revision; only the described monitor and architecture. Model, engine and calibration fitment are not inferred.

The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.

P2C4C identifies a low circuit condition for clutch-actuation position sensor A in Ford’s summary. It maps to P2C4A_11. The monitored item is the actuation-position sensor, which must be distinguished from the clutch-pedal sensor and switch systems described in the preceding section.

Fast sensor monitoring differs from cycle-based switch checks

The actuation-position monitor runs continuously and lists less than one second to register a sensor malfunction. Nearby pedal-switch checks use repeated clutch applications at different vehicle speeds. Those switch-cycle requirements should not be imported into this sensor-circuit diagnosis.

The source does not publish a numerical low-voltage threshold for P2C4C. The 0.25 V value printed later on the same page belongs to the throttle-position sensor section, not the clutch-actuation row.

Verify the correct signal before assigning a cause

Preserve the complete code, reporting module, actuator state and the identity of the signal being observed. A pedal reading may not answer the same question as the actuation-position feedback monitored here.

The low classification does not identify a specific broken wire, failed sensor or controller input. Vehicle-specific circuit information is needed to establish the actual reference, signal and diagnostic limits. Using an adjacent throttle specification or a pedal-switch procedure would create a test the cited source does not support.
