P061F: Throttle-controller supervision is a different layer from motor wiring
Understand Ford P061F internal throttle-actuator-controller performance and why full supervisory codes matter.

Documented application
Ford 2024–2025 gasoline OBD operation summary, July 16 2024 revision; only the documented monitor variants. No individual model, engine or calibration fitment inferred.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
Ford lists P061F as internal control module throttle actuator controller performance, paired with P0068_48. This is a supervisory result within electronic throttle control, not the same diagnostic category as a motor-current fault or a position-sensor circuit extreme.
Preserve the expanded diagnostic identity
The source lists many internal monitoring functions separately, including airmass, engine speed, pedal processing and torque calculation. Reducing all of them to “bad computer” discards the functional distinction needed for diagnosis. Retain P061F's full format and companion component or processor codes.
The table does not provide a unique numerical P061F threshold or identify a particular failed transistor, sensor or software item. Those conclusions require the matching vehicle's detailed procedure.
Fallback behavior depends on the actual fault
Ford's dependability overview describes several responses to electronic-throttle failures. Some preserve control, while others change torque management or disable parts of throttle control. The overview does not assign one guaranteed response exclusively to P061F, so a specific drivability outcome should not be promised from the code alone.
The supervision group is continuously evaluated and generally lists detection below one second, with P061F associated with MIL and wrench indications. Verification needs a valid supervisory check without recurrence under the appropriate conditions. A motor that moves during one observation does not prove the controller's internal performance comparison is healthy, and the cited summary does not justify automatic throttle-body or PCM replacement.
Source and applicability
This explanation covers the cited Ford monitor variants, not every vehicle displaying this code. Match the engine, sensor architecture and calibration before applying numerical limits.
