P0B93: block 18 high has a separate threshold from performance faults

GM P0B93 records repeated high block 18 readings and should not be interpreted using the neighboring rationality calculation.

Documented application

GM 2010 10OBDG10 Hybrid Diagnostics, cited BPCM or hybrid-controller monitor only. Historical calibration values are not universal specifications; no per-code model, engine or hardware fitment has been established.

The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.

The cited GM table places P0B93 in the block 18 voltage-sensor circuit and labels it out of range high. Generic terminology calls this voltage sense R high. The source documents a measured-signal condition, without deciding which physical component caused it.

Apply the correct rule

The high criterion is block 18 greater than 23 V. Fifteen failures within twenty samples, taken at 100 ms intervals, are needed. This filter is specific to the high-range branch.

The neighboring performance code instead evaluates two scaled block-to-pack differences over 170 samples. Borrowing that calculation for P0B93 would confuse different tests. Likewise, the low branch's requirement for two low channels is not part of this high condition.

Interpret a clean scan cautiously

The test requires BPCM RUN mode, a low-voltage supply between 9 and 18 V and no active P0A1F. A clean scan outside those enable conditions may simply reflect unavailable testing.

Retain the block 18 voltage history and related codes, then use the appropriate vehicle procedure to evaluate the sensing circuit and actual battery condition. The table does not prove that a block is physically overcharged, specify a repair cost or require replacing the pack. Its numerical threshold is not permission to conduct an improvised high-voltage test; that work requires trained hybrid-service personnel.
