P0BEC: motor A phase V high must be separated from physical overcurrent

GM P0BEC is a sensor high-range test with PWM disabled and can inhibit the phase V offset diagnosis.

Documented application

GM 2010 10OBDG10 Hybrid Diagnostics, cited BPCM or hybrid-controller monitor only. Historical calibration values are not universal specifications; no per-code model, engine or hardware fitment has been established.

The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.

P0BEC identifies the high-range branch for motor A phase V current sensing in this GM calibration. The code records an out-of-range sensor report under specified controller conditions. It does not, by itself, prove that the motor physically carried that reported current.

The disabled-output prerequisite matters

GM's threshold is phase V sensor output above 700 A. The wakeup signal must be on while PWMOutputEnable is FALSE. That combination makes this a circuit-range check, distinct from the running overcurrent protection described elsewhere in the document.

Ten qualifying counts among fifteen at a 2.08 ms interval are required. These are internal detection parameters, not a workshop procedure for generating an extreme current condition.

Preserve the diagnostic sequence

The phase V offset monitor requires both P0BEC and P0BEB to be inactive. If either direct range fault is active, the absence of a performance result may reflect inhibition. Save the related code states and current-channel readings before clearing the controller memory.

The table does not identify a failed wire, sensor package or inverter solely from this code. Safe signal identification and physical diagnosis depend on the vehicle's hybrid service information. An output-disable command is not verified electrical isolation. A qualified technician should confirm credible phase V measurement behavior during an eligible test after the actual cause has been addressed.
