Documented application
FCA bulletin 07-006-23, May 2023: North American 2022 Jeep Wrangler JL PHEV with 2.0 L ECX engine, specifically vehicles built June 4, 2022. Historical RSU 23-142 eligibility must be checked by VIN.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
Stuck closed does not automatically mean a failed valve
P0E80-00 is the coolant bypass valve B stuck-closed code in this Wrangler PHEV bulletin. Intermittent loss of cabin heat and an illuminated malfunction indicator are the reported symptoms. The identified assembly problem is incorrect routing of the three-way coolant-valve hoses. Consequently, replacing an electrically sound valve would not necessarily correct the coolant path that caused the complaint.
What distinguishes the routing check
The illustrated inspection places hose one at the top of the valve. The two lower hoses run toward the dash and should remain parallel rather than cross each other. The original diagrams are important because hose numbers describe that particular installation, not a universal color or connector standard. When the routing is already correct, the bulletin explicitly ends its special repair path and sends the technician back to normal diagnosis. That branch prevents an unsupported hose rearrangement on a correctly assembled vehicle.
Correction requires proper cooling-system service
Incorrect routing is corrected by draining the high-temperature cooling circuit, positioning the hoses on the intended ports using the valve alignment marks, refilling and checking for leaks. This is work for a technician familiar with the PHEV cooling layout; hoses should not be loosened on a hot, pressurized system. Ask the repairer to document the original routing and confirm cabin heat afterward. The one-day production scope is unusually narrow, so a 2022 model-year match alone does not establish that this assembly defect is present.
