Documented application
2025 GM 25OBDG03A diagnostic monitor only; exact vehicle, engine and calibration applicability is not established.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P2153 is assigned to injector 3's high-side short-to-ground diagnosis in the reviewed GM table. The general dictionary calls it injector group C supply voltage low. This article follows the documented injector 3 mapping without treating that mapping as universal engine applicability.
The fault belongs to the power-driving circuit
The driver evaluates voltage with the output powered on. A result outside the controller's permitted range indicates a ground-short signature. The monitor therefore supplies evidence about an energized electrical path, not a measurement of injector flow balance or cylinder pressure.
A 25-amp design criterion appears in the source. It characterizes the controller's detection specification and does not provide a safe manual load-test procedure. Do not use that number as a target for externally energizing an injector circuit.
Interpret the sampling window
The required battery voltage is at least 11 V. The specified P062B failure states must also be absent. The diagnostic counts 10 failures in 20 samples at 100-millisecond intervals, rather than deciding from one isolated observation.
For an intermittent P2153, collect the supply and command conditions that accompany the abnormal response. A later acceptable static measurement may not cover the powered interval evaluated by the controller. If related injector faults exist, preserving each channel's identity helps avoid attributing every code to the same cylinder or component.
Repair verification should demonstrate normal injector 3 high-side operation during the enabled test and no renewed failure. The table's one-trip Type A classification does not establish the physical cause or a replacement part.
Source and applicability
The thresholds and component mapping apply only to the documented monitor, pending vehicle and calibration confirmation. GM diagnostic table, PDF page 607.
