P2382: low-pressure EGR differential-pressure signal low

P2382 identifies a raw low-pressure EGR pressure-sensor signal below its electrical range.

Documented application

2025 GM 25OBDG04B diagnostic parameter file; the cited monitor is documented, but individual vehicle, engine and calibration applicability has not been established.

The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.

The GM implementation of P2382 monitors the low-pressure EGR differential-pressure sensor. Its generic sensor-D label does not by itself identify a location or connector. The documented fault boundary is a raw voltage representation below 0.02%.

Electrical range is the key distinction

The threshold is almost the bottom of the reported electrical scale. It is not a statement that the actual EGR pressure differential should always be above 0.02 kPa, and it supplies no direct pressure-to-voltage conversion. A low differential under some operating conditions and an electrically out-of-range input are different observations.

The monitor requires calibration permission, an active diagnostic system, completion of cranking and powertrain relay voltage above 11 V. Its counter is 480 failures out of 600 samples at 6.25 ms intervals. The reporting class is Type A, one trip.

Useful follow-up

Review the raw sensor input and fault status in the correct scale before evaluating EGR-flow performance. An active electrical low fault can also prevent other monitors from relying on the sensor. After diagnosis, verify completion of the electrical-range check with a valid input; simply clearing the code or observing a changed EGR command does not demonstrate that the signal has recovered. The source does not identify a failed wire or mandate replacement of the pressure sensor.

Source and application limits

This explanation covers the cited 2025 GM monitor. Confirm the vehicle and calibration in its service information before applying these limits; inclusion in this file does not establish model compatibility. GM diagnostic parameters, PDF page 1448.
