P2454: filter differential-pressure raw signal below its electrical floor

P2454 detects an electrically low raw differential-pressure signal associated with a ground-short condition.

Documented application

2025 GM 25OBDG04B diagnostic parameter file; the cited monitor is documented, but individual vehicle, engine and calibration applicability has not been established.

The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.

P2454 is an electrical-range diagnosis for the particulate-filter differential-pressure input. The raw signal is compared with its minimum clamp boundary, and a value below 0.02% is classified as a short-to-ground condition in this source.

Low signal versus low pressure

The percentage is a representation of the electrical input, not a minimum exhaust-pressure requirement. Very low physical differential pressure and an input pinned below its electrical floor are different observations. That distinction is especially relevant when comparing P2454 with the map-based low-pressure monitor P244A.

This test requires calibration permission, active run/crank, valid ignition state, no diagnostic reset and no engine cranking. The counter is 158 failures out of 200 samples on a 12.5 ms task. Reporting is Type A, one trip.

Next useful evidence

Check the raw input and its electrical fault status using the correct vehicle data definition. A pressure display may be converted, substituted or otherwise insufficient to reproduce the raw-range decision. The source identifies a ground-short class but does not prove a specific harness location or failed component.

Verification should show a completed electrical-range monitor after cranking, with the input no longer below its accepted floor. A pressure change during regeneration does not independently establish electrical integrity, and the table does not support a generic terminal-voltage conversion.

Source and application limits

This explanation covers the cited 2025 GM monitor. Confirm the vehicle and calibration in its service information before applying these limits; inclusion in this file does not establish model compatibility. GM diagnostic parameters, PDF page 831.
