P26C7: A high exhaust-valve circuit is separate from a stuck position
Learn the supported electrical meaning of Ford P26C7 and why a printed code mismatch remains explicitly unresolved.

Documented application
Ford 2024–2025 gasoline OBD summary, July 16, 2024 revision; only the described monitor and architecture. Model, engine and calibration fitment are not inferred.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P26C7 appears as the high control-circuit condition for exhaust flow-control valve A in Ford’s bank 1 section. The detailed representation is P26C5_12. That electrical direction matters: it is not a statement that exhaust pressure or valve opening is excessively high.
Read the electrical reporting path
Ford describes the circuit result through smart-driver output-fault reporting, with continuous execution and a five-second monitoring duration. It lists performance and position-rationality checks separately, including a duration that changes with ambient conditions.
A valve-position observation therefore cannot replace the electrical evidence, and the five-second circuit duration should not be treated as the universal time allowed for every valve-performance check. Keep requested operation, driver fault status and position information distinct.
Resolve the source’s bare-code mismatch
The DTC list names P26C7, whereas the threshold paragraph prints P25C7 next to P26C5_12. The shared detailed representation supports the intended electrical category, but this article does not silently repair the conflicting bare-code label.
Confirm the complete identifier and bank against the vehicle’s diagnostic information before selecting a test. The summary provides no high-voltage cutoff, pinout or universal load test for this code. It cannot by itself localize the fault to a harness, valve or driver, or justify replacing an exhaust assembly from the phrase “circuit high.”
