Documented application
2025 GM 25OBDG06C documented monitor only. Vehicle, engine and calibration applicability must be confirmed from the matching service information; no model fitment is inferred.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P2761 identifies an open electrical circuit in the torque-converter clutch pressure-control solenoid. The cited GM monitor does not classify every initial low hardware indication as an open circuit immediately. It first records pending evidence and then uses a controller-run diagnostic test to distinguish the final fault type.
Initial detection and final classification are different
A single driver detection can set pending status. Persistence for at least three samples initiates the additional test, and an open indication during at least three test samples produces the malfunction result. The table lists a 20 ms checking frequency and a 120 ms overall time requirement for this sequence.
This distinction matters when comparing a pending record with a confirmed P2761. The former may describe preliminary electrical evidence that has not yet completed the open-circuit classification.
Check whether the driver test was eligible
High-side driver 1 must be enabled, battery voltage within the documented operating range, and relevant solenoid or supply faults absent. Cranking has additional time and voltage restrictions. An unavailable supply path can prevent a meaningful test of the downstream solenoid circuit.
Preserve fault status, supply conditions and the related electrical codes. P2764 uses a similar initial low indication but finishes with a ground-fault classification, so the initial symptom alone does not establish an open path. The controller’s diagnostic sequence is not an instruction for manually opening or powering the circuit.
