Documented application
2025 GM 25OBDG04B diagnostic parameter file; the cited monitor is documented, but individual vehicle, engine and calibration applicability has not been established.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P2814 is an electrical low-circuit code for pressure-control solenoid G. The cited controller uses voltage feedback to identify a ground short, associated with less than 0.5 ohm between signal and controller ground. That impedance is a design criterion, not a live-circuit resistance-test procedure.
The letter does not identify one universal valve
This row covers line-pressure control for its named nine- and ten-speed systems, eight-speed torque-converter control, or CVT mode-valve A. Diagnosis needs the actual transmission mapping before selecting wiring or parts.
The fault timer must exceed 0.30 seconds within a sample period exceeding 0.50 seconds, updated every 6.25 ms. Battery voltage must remain between 9 V and 32 V for more than one second. An eligible power state, calibration enablement and the applicable energized high-side driver are also required. Reporting is Type A, one trip.
What confirms the concern
Retain electrical fault status and power/driver state together. A low hydraulic-pressure reading does not establish this electrical short, while a good pressure result does not necessarily clear an intermittent circuit issue.
After vehicle-specific circuit diagnosis, verify that the enabled ground-short check completes successfully. The source does not specify a connector pin, rank possible failure locations or prove that the solenoid itself is the defective component.
Source and application limits
This explanation covers the cited 2025 GM monitor. Confirm the vehicle and calibration in its service information before applying these limits; inclusion in this file does not establish model compatibility. GM diagnostic parameters, PDF page 2287.
