P051C: Low crankcase-pressure sensor voltage is an analog circuit result
Understand Ford P051C and why a low sensor signal is different from confirmed crankcase vacuum or a disconnected PCV hose.

Documented application
Ford 2024–2025 gasoline OBD operation summary, July 16 2024 revision; only the documented monitor variants. No individual model, engine or calibration fitment inferred.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P051C is the low-circuit result for an analog crankcase-pressure sensor in Ford's turbocharged-engine PCV monitor. The source's electrical criterion is sensor voltage below 0.44 volts. That is a circuit-range observation, not by itself a verified statement about actual crankcase pressure.
Confirm that the sensor is analog
The same document describes a SENT digital alternative with different fault and communication codes. The 0.44-volt criterion belongs to the analog implementation and should not be applied to a digital communication line.
Ford lists continuous circuit monitoring with a five-second malfunction duration. Preserve the signal state and the complete code format before interpreting a momentary low reading as the monitored persistent condition.
Pressure performance depends on credible sensing
The neighboring P051B strategy addresses offset and pressure rationality. The following hose-disconnect monitor requires the pressure-sensor checks to be healthy. Those distinctions mean that P051C should be resolved as sensing evidence before treating PCV performance observations as conclusive.
A displayed low pressure could reflect the electrical fault rather than a genuine ventilation condition. The source does not identify a connector pin, ground path or component failure from the code alone. Use the exact vehicle circuit procedure to determine the cause, then verify that the analog signal remains in its valid range while the monitor runs and that dependent PCV checks regain valid operation.
Source and applicability
This explanation covers the cited Ford monitor variants, not every vehicle displaying this code. Match the engine, sensor architecture and calibration before applying numerical limits.
