P060A: Processor-performance codes need the reporting module identified
P060A can represent TCM timing supervision or ECM shutdown-path monitoring in this GM file, so the module context changes interpretation.

Documented application
2025 GM 25OBDG07A Part 2, specific documented monitor only. Vehicle, engine and calibration applicability require confirmation; application-matrix filename join is unresolved.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P060A is a broad internal control-module performance code. The cited GM document uses it in both engine and transmission sections, with different monitoring strategies. A five-character code without the reporting module loses information needed for a useful diagnosis.
The TCM watches timing and program flow
The transmission row lists a watchdog fault at startup, a clock or phase-locked-loop fault during startup initialization, or a task/program-flow monitoring fault. Any listed condition can supply the fault evidence. The table uses at least one fail count and a type-A classification.
These alternatives do not identify which internal path failed from P060A alone. Manufacturer-specific status and startup history are more informative than a generic scanner description that says only “processor performance.”
The ECM uses a different context
The engine section describes CAN/FlexRay and power-stage shutdown-path tests, including completion supervision. Those tests should not be applied to a TCM fault as though both modules use one universal procedure.
Preserve the reporting module, full fault detail and whether the event occurred during initialization or operation. The source does not establish that a software update, battery replacement or new controller is the required repair. Use the matching module’s diagnostic procedure to investigate the recorded internal supervision failure. The key value of this evidence is narrowing the applicable monitor before selecting hardware or programming actions.
Source and applicability
This explanation covers the cited GM monitor, not every vehicle carrying this code. The application-matrix filename does not resolve cleanly to this file, so no model or engine fitment is assigned. GM diagnostic table, PDF page 637; GM diagnostic table, PDF page 904.
