Documented application
Documented monitors in gm-2025-03a, model year 2025. These are module/calibration examples; vehicle, engine and transmission applicability must be confirmed independently.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P0746 is pressure-control solenoid A performance/stuck off. In the cited source it specifically monitors the CVT secondary-pulley pressure actuator: measured pressure stays low while the functional command is high.
Match the command to the pressure
The displayed failure boundary is raw secondary-pulley pressure below 200 kPa for more than three seconds once the monitor is enabled. A low pressure reading without the corresponding high command does not establish this performance failure.
The monitor depends on other information being valid. The page excludes primary-pulley speed faults and output-speed electrical/performance faults in both pending and active states. Those exclusions matter because an unreliable supporting speed signal can prevent meaningful evaluation.
Service operations can inhibit evaluation
Pressure-control fast learn and solenoid cleaning functions must not be active in the shown prerequisites. Line-pressure adaptation is also excluded. A pressure observation made during one of those procedures therefore should not be judged as if it were an ordinary enabled-monitor result.
Record command, measured secondary pressure, supply voltage and service-mode status together. This is a CVT-specific performance comparison, not a direct proof that solenoid A's electrical winding is open or shorted. Verification needs the applicable commanded-pressure response and a passing monitor after the prescribed repair process. The summary does not establish transmission model compatibility, pressure-test connection points or a universal solenoid-replacement instruction.
