P0769: An intermittent D-channel circuit result needs a different record from a failed shift
Understand Ford P0769 and preserve the difference between electrical intermittency and D-solenoid functional faults.

Documented application
Ford 2024–2025 gasoline OBD operation summary, July 16 2024 revision; only the cited monitor and transmission architectures. No individual vehicle fitment or universal calibration is inferred.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P0769 is the intermittent electrical entry for shift solenoid D in Ford's general monitor, represented more specifically as P0765_1F. The stored result may describe a condition that is absent during a later inspection, making event timing especially important.
Do not substitute the functional event counter
Ford separates continuous electrical monitoring from functional checks made around solenoid transitions. Electrical feedback has a typical 1.5-second fault criterion in the general description. The functional filter, by contrast, counts bad responses and correct non-shifting states. The summary does not establish that filter as P0769's intermittency threshold.
The D-channel table also has separate open-circuit, ground-short and power-short categories. Preserve a detailed scanner suffix if available so an intermittent result is not automatically treated as a persistent short or break.
Build a record of the actual interruption
Useful evidence connects D command state, electrical fault status and any accompanying supply or channel events. If a shift disturbance occurred simultaneously, its timing is valuable; it does not by itself locate an intermittent connection. A later valid circuit reading cannot reproduce an earlier event without comparable conditions.
The source does not specify a universal connector, resistance range or movement test for the D path. Those details require the exact transmission procedure. Verification should distinguish recurrence of the electrical classification from P0766 or P0767 functional failed-off/on behavior rather than counting every irregular shift as the same fault.
