P216F: A high group F supply fault is an off-state relationship to controller power

Learn why GM P216F cannot be diagnosed from an isolated injector voltage without its command and reference.

Documented application

2025 GM 06B documented monitor only. Vehicle, engine and controller calibration applicability must be established separately; no model fitment is inferred from the file.

The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.

P216F names the high supply-circuit condition for injector group F. The cited GM strategy monitors the output called injector 6 high-side driver while it is switched off. The electrical classification is a connection toward power, not a direct finding of excessive injection quantity.

The relevant comparison uses two voltages

The table specifies a difference of at most one volt between signal and controller power. That is a relative criterion. It does not instruct a reader to look for one volt from the signal to chassis ground, and it does not identify a connector terminal for an external test.

Battery voltage of at least 11 V and absence of the stated P062B fault conditions are prerequisites. The confirmation history is ten failed samples within twenty on a 100-millisecond loop, with one-trip reporting.

Keep the off command in the record

A high signal during an intended on period may have a different meaning from the same signal during the documented off test. Capture command, output and power reference together so that the comparison is not reconstructed from unrelated moments.

The output-6 label is specific to this GM implementation and must not become a universal physical cylinder assignment for group F. The monitor does not locate the power-directed path inside the injector, harness or controller. Further circuit checks and any replacement decision require the matching vehicle service procedure.
