P2185: coolant sensor 2 high-circuit row contains a channel conflict
P2185 describes a high-resistance temperature-sensor circuit fault, but the reviewed source has inconsistent function mapping.

Documented application
Documented 2025 GM diagnostic parameter monitor in 25OBDG04B.pdf; model, engine and calibration applicability require vehicle-specific confirmation.
The code alone does not identify a failed part or establish that a vehicle is safe to drive. Confirm the vehicle, reporting module and applicable service procedure.
P2185 is labeled engine coolant-temperature sensor 2 circuit high in GM's Diesel L6 ATM–LZO table. However, the malfunction cell says the associated function is RadCoolantTempSnsr, while the listed configurable mapping assigns EngCoolantTempSnsr2 to channel 1. That conflict must be resolved before choosing a physical sensor or resistance limit.
What the row supports
The strategy monitors excessive circuit resistance to detect an open or short-to-high condition. It prints different high-resistance limits for different configurable temperature channels, referenced to −60°C. Because the target function is inconsistent, this article does not select one of those values as the definitive P2185 workshop specification.
The electrical interpretation still matters: an extremely cold represented temperature can result from the high-resistance condition and should not be treated as independent proof of actual coolant temperature. Nor does “sensor 2” establish a connector location from this table alone.
Conditions and verification
The monitor must be enabled and requires either engine runtime beyond 10 seconds or minimum intake-air temperature above −20°C. Failure qualification is five seconds within a six-second window, continuously sampled, with Type B reporting over two trips.
Verification needs the correct function mapping, the appropriate resistance criterion and satisfaction of the runtime/temperature gate. A quick startup observation outside those conditions is not a completed test. The useful supported conclusion is a high-resistance circuit diagnosis; exact channel attribution and threshold require vehicle-specific service confirmation. This unresolved source conflict keeps the article flagged for review.
